Chronos Developer Tooling, Resources & Links
Chronos is now live as the new testnet for Autonomys - and it’s already shaping up to be the foundation for builders, testers, and community members to engage with the full spectrum of our protocol. Taurus served us well, but its experimental legacy and technical debt meant it was time to evolve. Chronos represents a clean slate: production-equivalent, stable, and aligned with mainnet.
Named by our community, Chronos symbolizes time and evolution, marking the forward momentum of Autonomys as we enter the AI3.0 era of infrastructure. This is where the next stages of Game of Domains will unfold, including the continuation of The Watcher’s Oath.
Together with our partners, we’ve focused on making the builder experience on Chronos smooth, reliable, and reflective of what’s ahead on mainnet. In this update, you’ll find the explorers, tooling, and documentation you need to build and test effectively.
Explorers
-
Consensus & Domains: Subscan is now the go-to explorer for consensus activity tracking. Astral has been retired.
-
Auto EVM Explorer: Blockscout provides full visibility into EVM-level transactions, contract deployment, and interaction.
Safe Multisig
We’ve deployed Safe on Chronos, complete with native Ledger support. This gives you a secure way to manage funds and contracts while unlocking powerful plugins and account abstraction features.
(be sure to select the Chronos network in the interface)

Documentation
Developer documentation has been fully updated for Chronos and includes guides for EVM contract deployment and local node operation.
For node operators migrating from Taurus, the process is simple: replace the chain parameter in your startup command.
--chain chronos
instead of
--chain taurus
Why Chronos Matters
Chronos brings together explorers, wallets, bridges, and developer tooling into one cohesive environment. Most importantly, it mirrors mainnet, so the work you do here will directly translate to production. This makes Chronos the new foundation for testing and building within the Autonomys ecosystem.
