Can you speak about what may cause this error? A restart of the farmer appeared to have addressed the issue.

This is on the same RAID configuration you were on?

Not the same system, but similar setup, raid-0 of a handful of sata SSD.

The issue did not return after the farmer restart.

Errors like that typically indicate hardware issues. Either corruption of data written to disk or memory issues.
