Solana Added as Auto EVM Bridge Destination

Solana Joins the Autonomys Bridge: AI3 and SOL Now Live via Hyperlane

We’re excited to announce that the Autonomys Bridge now supports Solana. This is the first non-EVM chain added to our Hyperlane-powered bridge infrastructure, and it opens up direct connectivity between Autonomys and one of the highest-throughput ecosystems in crypto.

What’s New

Two new token routes are live on the Autonomys Bridge:

  • AI3 to Solana: Bridge native AI3 from Autonomys to Solana, where it’s represented as a synthetic token. Bridge it back at any time.
  • SOL to Autonomys: Bridge native SOL from Solana to Autonomys, where it’s represented as a synthetic token. Bridge it back at any time.

Both routes have been deployed, tested, and verified with end-to-end transfers in both directions.

How It Works

The Solana route uses the same Hyperlane messaging framework that powers our existing Ethereum and BSC bridge routes. If you’ve bridged other assets between Autonomys and Ethereum, the experience is familiar.

The key difference is under the hood. Solana is not an EVM chain, so the bridge contracts are native Solana programs rather than Solidity smart contracts. Hyperlane’s cross-chain messaging protocol handles the coordination between chains, with dedicated validators and relayers operating the Autonomys-Solana pipeline.

How to Bridge

  1. Go to bridge.mainnet.autonomys.xyz
  2. Connect your wallets (an EVM wallet for Autonomys, a Solana wallet like Phantom for the Solana side)
  3. Select the origin and destination chains
  4. Choose AI3 or SOL and enter the amount
  5. Approve and confirm the transaction

Transfers typically complete within a few minutes. You can track the status directly in the bridge UI.

Wallet Setup

To use the Solana side of the bridge, you’ll need a Solana wallet. Phantom is the most widely used option and works as a browser extension alongside your existing EVM wallet (MetaMask, etc.).

If you’re new to Solana, you’ll need a small amount of SOL in your wallet to cover transaction fees (Solana fees are typically fractions of a cent).

What This Means for Autonomys

Adding Solana is a significant step for cross-chain connectivity. It means:

  • Access to Solana’s ecosystem: Autonomys users can now move assets to and from one of the most active DeFi and NFT ecosystems.
  • AI3 on Solana: AI3 is now accessible to Solana-native users and protocols, expanding its reach beyond EVM chains.
  • SOL on Autonomys: Solana’s native asset is now available within the Autonomys ecosystem.
  • Non-EVM precedent: This deployment proves out the infrastructure pattern for adding other non-EVM chains in the future.

Built with Hyperlane, Deployed by Protofire

This route was built using Hyperlane, the same permissionless interoperability framework behind our existing bridge routes. The deployment was led by Protofire, our bridge infrastructure partner, who also built and maintain the Ethereum and BSC routes.

Try It Out

The Solana route is live now. Give it a try and let us know how it goes:
