I hadn’t thought about that - I suppose we could establish an effective date for when the transition (or beginning) is scheduled as part of the election. I would expect it to be relatively quickly, but what are the situations you are thinking of that we should plan for / accommodate?
@scorpio2017 we discussed your points in the gov guild call today and revised somewhat. Article 2 Paragraph 2 now reads:
Selection of Apprentice Ambassadors. Applicants that have completed the Onboarding Curriculum and have been ranked above average in at least 2 successive Peer Review Periods will be automatically promoted to Apprentice after review by the Program Administration Team. A decision of the Program Administration Team to exclude an Applicant can be appealed through the Conflict Resolution Process.
We ended up keeping some sort of oversight as a check to prevent gaming and have some sort of human review, but it is simpler now.
Oh… I’m very glad that my thoughts were useful) I also think that every ambassador should have a specialization or connection to a guild, where he will be most useful. Therefore, when he becomes an Apprentice, he may express a desire to obtain a specialization or join a guild, based on his best skills
I’ll note that this might be a “nice to have” and not a “need to have”. But I’m considering situations where there’s an emergency, or a need for a lead ambassador to be placed very quickly. In my case there was a need from the program to fill the engagement lead role within one week to help onboard a cohort of new ambassadors. I wasn’t able to immediately accommodate the transition into my schedule and therefore we decided to fill the position with another candidate.
If there was a standardized process for lead elections during that time with 1. a lead time for the election to take place and a 2. period after the election for a lead to establish good standing with the sponsor, then I think this situation and most others would take care of themselves.
