Mainnet Phase-2 Roadmap - February Update

The Path to Mainnet Phase-2

As we progress toward Mainnet Phase-2, we’re excited to share the latest developments and milestones achieved since the last roadmap update. Our teams have been diligently working across various tracks to ensure a robust and seamless launch. Below, we provide detailed updates on each track, highlighting key accomplishments and upcoming initiatives.

Foundation Track

  • Autonomys Improvement Proposals (AIPs):

AIPs serve as a structured way to propose and implement network upgrades, similar to Ethereum’s EIPs. The documentation and process to support them has been reviewed and made live. The process to submit an AIP can be found on the Subspace Foundation website.

  • Ecosystem Grants Program:

The grants program legal agreements have been reviewed by the Subspace Foundation legal advisors and amendments are currently being ratified. There are some supporting policies that need creating which are also being worked on.

  • Ambassador Agreements:

Ambassador agreements defining their roles in the community, regulations and rewards have been finalised and are being worked into the stakeholder claim site.

  • Stakeholder Claim Site:

Tokensoft have made great progress on the vesting structure and claims portal and we expect to be testing a staging site in the very near future.

Engineering Track

  • Taurus Auto EVM Enhancements:

Our renamed “Auto EVM” is live on Taurus, enabling developers to deploy applications and contracts in preparation for Mainnet Phase-2.

  • Argu-mint PoC and Agent Framework:

The Agent Framework is in release v0.2.2 and a number of improvements have landed. Highlights include:

    • Orchestration workflow
    • Multi-agent support
    • Tools to like tweets, follow users and fetch the “following” timeline
    • Agent self scheduling and direction
    • Web Search Tool Integration
    • Increased agent autonomy

The agent framework is being actively developed and is also forming a core pillar of our Aurora Buildathon developer outreach program. An upcoming release will introduce CLI support with our first pass at agent driven task scheduling, simplified configuration and more granular control over personality. Please reach out to team if you would like to get started with the framework. You can follow Argu-mint on X.

  • Cross-Domain Messaging (XDM):

A crucial feature enabling token transfers between domains and the consensus chains. XDM has been deployed on Taurus and documentation on how to use it via the Auto SDK has been produced. Note that there is a community effort underway to bring XDM to Astral users - why not jump in if you can help out!

  • XDM Audit:

Now that XDM is ready for them, SR Labs have started their audit of the code. We are expecting an initial report in days rather than weeks and will provide an update on any actionable points that get raised.

  • NOTE:

Auto EVM deployments and Domain Explorers have been removed from the roadmap in this update as they only require infrastructure setup which has been tested in a few scenarios and is now believed to be trivial.

  • Transfer Activation:

No change here - the Subspace Foundation will handle the critical task of enabling token transfers on Mainnet Phase-2.

Community Track

  • Auto Horizon Developer Contest:

Auto Horizon submissions closed on the 31st of January. The amazing entries received have been judged and winners announced. We were blown away with the quality of the dApps our developers produced! Please check them out here and let us know which are your favourites!

  • Aurora Buildathon (formerly Hacker Month 2):

Hacker Month 2 has been renamed to the Autonomys Aurora Buildathon and represents our biggest developer outreach program to date. This extended event will feature exciting initiatives like hackathons, workshops and opportunities to win prizes for building AI3.0 solutions.

The Buildathon was announced on February 6th and the first big initiative - our hackathon in partnership with Secret Network is well underway. With a prize pool of $15,000 up for grabs we are hoping to see some more amazing submissions. Remember that we will be holding a hacker house at ETHDenver if you’d like to connect there. Check out our Aurora playlist to catch up on the workshop action so far!

The supporting Developer Hub was also finished and released.

  • Game of Domains (formerly Stake Wars 2):

Yes, Stake Wars 2 has a new name and a new theme. Community anticipation for this initiative is off the charts! We have been waiting for readiness and initial testing of the staking workflows in Astral before we are ready to launch the next instalment of our incentivised staking contest. That time is fast approaching and there is a good chance that by the time you are reading this message the first stage will be underway.

In fact, Stage 0 - Winter is Coming is now active. Read more here.

  • Core Infrastructure Deployments:

Our environment recently became a little richer with the deployment of Safe on Taurus Auto EVM. This represents our first multisig implementation and opens the door to a whole ecosystem of account abstraction and plugins. Let us know which extensions you’d like to see made available next.

We also have news coming regarding additional wallets that support our consensus chain and a very exciting partnership with support for an industry leading indexing framework. More to hear from us here as we finalise details on a number of tools to enhance our offering.

  • Dawn of Autonomy (formerly Big Bang 2):

Our Phase-2 launch campaign will build excitement and engagement, mirroring the success of the Mainnet Phase-1 launch activities. Let us know which of the Big Bang initiatives you enjoyed the most and help us shape the fun. Stay tuned to our announcement channels for details!

Marketing Track

  • APAC Growth Lead & KOL Activation:

We have been actively evaluating candidates for the APAC Lead role and remain committed to strengthening our presence in this important area. As we continue this process, our focus remains on expanding community engagement, developer activity, and strategic partnerships within the region.

The APAC Lead will play a key role in PR media & distribution, original content creation, events & conferences, and KOL & affiliate marketing, ensuring alignment with our global initiatives. We will share further updates once the position is finalized and look forward to accelerating our efforts in APAC in the coming months.

Our KOLs will be activated within the month of March as we head towards market & listing. We will start with the APAC strategy and expand from there. More on this to come.

  • Website Enhancements:

The Autonomys Network website continues to go through overhauls and UX improvements and implementations including the introduction of product-focused specific pages which are a WIP and continue to have further refinement.

  • Event Participation:

Autonomys Network is currently at Consensus Hong Kong and have had the opportunity to meet with our APAC support team, ecosystem partners, and investors as we prepare to go to market. As we continue to build a strong presence in APAC, we want to ensure that Autonomys is well represented and supported within this region

Next week will see a number of team attending ETHDenver. As well as delivering keynotes, speaking on panels and meeting up with partners new and old we will be running an in-person portion of our hackathon and be present at a hacker house where we’d love you to pop in and say hello. If you would like to meet up with us at an event, please reach out to team and we’ll get something penciled in!

  • Listings (CEX/DEX):

Working closely with our Operations team, we are finalizing the conversation with several Centralized Exchanges as well as exploring every possible area through which we can expand the market reach for AI3 for our community. Alongside this, Market Makers are being explored to help facilitate the long-term supply and demand side of the token. We hope to provide positive news for our community members as we continue to make speedy progress within this track.

Product Track

  • Integrations and Partner Co-Creation (formerly Partnership Activation):

Collaborating with partners to leverage Autonomys’ AI3.0 infrastructure for mutual growth and innovation. A number of integrations are in development with other Web3 AI companies but we cannot talk about those further as they are dependent on external roadmaps and under MNDA, but will be announced soon.

We also have official commitments with educational institutions and will be hosting with Secret Network as well as leading the AI/Web3 track for the Midwest Blockathon hosted by The Kansas Blockchain Institute.

  • SDK Enhancements:

Our product feedback loop is getting tighter and our developer outreach is already paying off with feedback from real users being acted on and steering the design of updates being made to the Auto SDK.

  • Second Agent Launch:

Building on the success of Argu-mint, a new agent with advanced interactive capabilities is planned. This has been deprioritized and backlogged due to not being a firm requirement for Mainnet Phase-2 launch.

  • Rapid Agent Platform:

A no-code interface to democratize access to building autonomous agents. Early access will reward dedicated community members. Work here is going through discovery or currently in development.

Partnerships Track

The partnerships track has had an overhaul as we refine our objectives. The individual goals are all ongoing activities rather than discrete workflows that we will have completed before Mainnet Phase-2. This is represented by the updated structure in the diagram.

The current phase focuses on integrating Autonomys’ product stack with Web3 clients and partners to enhance usability, functionality, and adoption across decentralized ecosystems. Specifically, the goals are to:

  • Improve Autonomys’ storage and compute stack with key Web3 integrations.
  • Strengthen AI-driven automation and intelligence in decentralized ecosystems.
  • Expand partner adoption across L2s, data platforms, and DeAI applications, infrastructure partners and Ecosystem & Incubation Partners

And to do that, we are targeting some key partner segments:

  1. Layer 2 Solutions (L2s)
Enable AI Agent capabilities within Layer 2 ecosystems for smart automation.
Example: Visual currently supports Solana and Base only, and other L2s are not able to host AI Dapps
  2. Data Crowdsourcing Platforms
Leverage decentralized data aggregation with secure and verifiable storage. Enhance data integrity and provenance for AI models and Web3 applications.
  3. DeAI (Decentralized AI) dApps
Facilitate AI-powered decentralized applications with scalable compute and storage.
  4. Infrastructure Partners
    1. Private Compute Partners
Integrate Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) for secure AI execution.
      Partners: Secret Network, Phala Network
    2. Agent Framework Partners
Enhance AI workflow automation through advanced agent-based frameworks.
  5. Ecosystem & Incubation Partners
Collaborate with Web3 incubators and accelerators to onboard DeAI startups.
Launch co-incubation, grant programs, and hackathons to drive adoption.
Expand cross-network collaborations with L1/L2 ecosystems.

Progress has been made and we are about to announce how several partners will be using the storage in our DSN to complement their own network offerings. In addition, two partners are integrating our SDK into their developer toolkits. Stay tuned for official announcements on these developments. Work is also underway on proposals from other partners to design and execute more Buildathon events.

In Conclusion

We have had a month of significant progress and collaboration since the last roadmap update. As we move closer to Mainnet Phase-2, our focus remains on delivering a secure, efficient, and innovative platform for our community. We encourage everyone to stay engaged, provide feedback, and participate in the exciting initiatives ahead.
